CEO / President
Lance began his career with Motorola, where he worked in the state and local government sector of the business for 18 years. During that time, he led sales and service in the southeast region, rebuilding the business sales structure and alignment of resources related to the marketplace. Lance worked with many partners along the way and developed relationships and business strategies that laid the foundation for Nashville Communications today. Nashville Communications, Inc. emerged from Lance’s purchase of Wireless Solutions, Inc. in 2012. Lance is a 1992 graduate of Auburn University and is very active in the Middle Tennessee community, where he volunteers and serves on various boards. He is married and has one son and two daughters. He enjoys golfing and watching football.
Vice President of Operations
Juan started working at Nashville Communications in 2013 after a career in the United States Marines Corps. He received the Marine Corps Honor Graduate award in 1991 and the Most Physically Fit Marine award in 1993. Juan is currently certified in MET0301 (MR Engineering Academy), MPT0301 (MR PM Academy), and MPL0301 (MR Project Manager Academy). Juan is married with four kids who are very active in sports and extracurricular activities. His hobbies include sports (Go Wolverines!), guns, and politics.
Vice President of Service
Rickey McWright began his career in Public Safety with Metro Nashville PD in July 1972. He started as a Police Operator and worked through the ranks to a Shift Supervisor. When the Police Communications consolidated with the Fire Communications in July 2002, the entity became the Emergency Communications Center and Rickey was promoted to Assistant 911 Director, where he served until retiring in 2013. Rickey came out of retirement only months later to serve as the Nashville Communications Vice President of Service. He was President of the Tennessee Emergency Number Association (TENA) in 2014 and he was licensed as Emergency Medical Dispatcher in 2002 from International Academies of Emergency Dispatch, APCO Communications Center Manager in 1998, and APCO Communications Trainer in 1996. Rickey has a wife, Carol, daughter, Tammie, and enjoys golfing and UT football!
Controller / Director of Office Operations
Caitlin began working at Nashville Communications in June 2014. After starting at Springhill College, she graduated from Louisiana State University with a double major, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Bachelor of Science in Biology. She also has a Master of Science in Medical Sciences from Mississippi College. While attending school full-time, Caitlin gained business experience working as a student intern for a nursing and rehabilitation management company. At Nashville Communications, Caitlin’s favorite part of her job is the opportunity to do different things every day. She plays many roles in accounting, IT, HR, sales, service, and other administrative duties. She is married and has one daughter. She is a competitive figure skater and enjoys attending concerts and trying new places to eat in Nashville.
Director of Sales
Joe started working at Nashville Communications in June 2017 after moving from Los Angeles with his fiancé, Michelle. He has his bachelors in business and economics from Northern Arizona University and his master’s in Business Administration from University of Colorado. Joe enjoys sports, road trips and exploring craft breweries. We are excited to have Joe on our team!
Mike began his professional career in 1979 at Melrose Electronics. He worked at Communications Services (1981-1982), Motorola (1982-1997), and Wireless Solutions (1997-2012) before joining the Nashville Communications team in 2012. During his time in the communications industry, he has received the Dale Carnegie How to Win and Influence Friends Award and the Motorola Plaque for Support Sales People and Customers in 1984. Mike is a certified DES1300 (Sales Activity and Planning), NST925-1 (Value of R56 Compliance), and DLR123TE (PCR Sales Associate). Mike has been married to his wife, Peggy, since 1980. They have two daughters, Brooke and Kelly, and three grandchildren, Caroline, Emma, and Jake. His hobbies include listening to and playing bluegrass music, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Dennis started working at Nashville Communications in November 2015. Prior to joining the team he spent 29 years in film and video production and 12 years in two-way radio sales in Southern California and Nashville. He received the Motorola Heavy Hitters Club award for the 2013 Western Region. Dennis is married with three grown daughters and four grandchildren. His hobbies include spending time with his family and listening to music.
Kenny joined the NashComm team in August of 2017. Kenny has been selling Motorola two-way radios since 2004. Over the last 13 years, Kenny has sold or been a part of a team who has sold in excess of $10 million of Motorola radios and accessories. Kenny moved to Nashville 23 years ago from California and met his wife of 20 years. Kenny has two sons, and when he is not working he can be found at home rooting on the Nashville Predators, Los Angeles Dodgers, and San Francisco 49ers.
David joined the Nashville Communications team in August 2016 after previously working for one year in automobile sales and two years at Regions Bank. He graduated from Auburn with a degree in Justice and Public Safety. David enjoys golfing with friends and family, is a car enthusiast, and loves to spend time on the water with his dog, Hank.
Chris started working at Nashville Communications in July 2017 after previously working for a Motorola shop in Florida. He has his bachelors in business administration from Florida Southern College. Chris is a lifelong Florida Gators fan. He loves fishing, being on the water and almost all sports.
Shortly after moving from Alabama to Nashville, Kendra joined the NashComm team as an Administrative Assistant. She graduated from Alabama A&M University with a BA in Communications. In her spare time, she stays immersed in the creative arts as a singer, songwriter, and avid theatre-lover.
Carl starting working at Nashville Communications in April 2014. His career began as an Aviation Communication Systems Technician in the Marine Corps (2004-2009), followed by working as a Marine Corps Recruiter and Station Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (2009-2012). He also worked as an Electronic Key Management System Manager in the Marine Corps (2012-2013) and as a Maintenance Technician green belt Six Sigma (2013-2014). Carl is a graduate of the Marine Corps Electronic Communication, Recruiting, and Electronic Key Management System Schools. He received the Iraq Campaign Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal for recruiting. He is certified in R56 grounding, CompTIA CertMaster A+, ASTRO 25 IV&D GTR 8000 Repeater Site, MCC 7000 Series Dispatch Consoles, and RDS0003 (Basic Networking). Carl is married to Verona and they have two daughters, Karina and Alanna. He cheers for the Cowboys, Bulls, Indians, Blackhawks, and West Virginia Mountaineers. He loves hunting, fishing, shooting guns, listening to live music, watching movies, having a drink, and shooting pool.
Rich began working at Nashville Communications in March 2013. His career started as a USAF Nuclear Missile Systems Analyst (1971-1975). From 1975-1977 he was self-employed and worked for the United Electronics Institute and the Cleveland Institute of Electronics. Rich then worked as a technician/electrician at the Barberton Citizens Hospital (1977-1981). He also worked as a technician for Tipton’s TV (1981-1983) and B&C Communications (1983-1985). From 1995-1999 he worked at C&S Communications in Cookeville before joining the Wireless Solutions team from 1999-2013. Rich has a Second Class FCC Radiotelephone license, First Class FCC Radiotelephone license, Certificate from the United Electronics Institute, NABOR certification, multiple Motorola equipment certifications from 1983 to present, Basic Networking certification, and Motorola Engineering certification. He is married with a daughter, son, daughter-in-law and four grandkids. Rich enjoys music and woodworking and is currently working on a customer log home, which may his most rewarding (and time-consuming) project yet!
Nick joined Nashville Communications in February 2014. He previously worked as a correctional officer, special operations response team member, and disaster response team member for the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office. Nick’s certifications include MCC 7500 Astro 25 IV&D Operations, GTR and GCP 8000 Site Controller and Repeater, and Networking with Cisco Routers and HP Switches for Astro 25 and MotoTRBO Networks. He enjoys outdoor activities, working on cars and computers, and shooting guns in his spare time.
Ryan started working at Nashville Communications in October 2015. He previously worked as a military consultant and served in the Marine Corps infantry. Ryan is A+ and ETA CST certified. In his free time, he teaches self-defense classes, shoots, hunts, and writes.
Bryan joined the Nashville Communications in 2017 after over 30 years of public safety and law enforcement. He maintains memberships and certifications in many Public Safety professional organizations such as NFPA, TACP, NENA, APCO, IACP. He is an avid outdoorsman and is always down for a good snack. We are very excited to have Bryan's expertise on our team.
Michael was born and raised here in the great state of Tennessee. He was hired in August of 2017 after previously working at another Motorola shop. He has one daughter, and enjoys watching Netflix, trying new restaurants, and hanging out with his cat.
Tony Knowlton has 41 years of communications experience. He began as a tower climber and installer at C&S Communications. His first, and highest, climb was 1780 feet. His career continued by installing two-way radio and satellite systems at Wagnon Stereo. Following the work at Wagnon, Tony built and climbed towers at Pier Tower, building towers from 30 to 480 feet and installing paging antennas and repeaters. He started working at Wireless Solutions in April 1999 as an installer, accumulating many years of experience outfitting vehicles and upgrading 911 systems in Middle Tennessee. Tony is Motorola certified in R56 grounding.
Jeff began his career at New Tech Communications, where he worked from 1986-1996. He then worked at Wireless Solutions until 2012, when the company became Nashville Communications. Jeff has two kids and is the most handy man anyone has ever known!
Mary started at Nashville Communications in 2013 after working for Motorola from 1985-2013. With almost 30 years of experience, Mary is the “Google of two-way radios” and “Mom of the Office”. She has one son and four dogs. Mary enjoys bargain shopping and working in the yard.
Lauren started at Nashville Communications after she moved to Nashville from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to attend Belmont University. She started her education career at Our Lady of the Lake college as a nursing major after earning Certified Nursing Assistant License transferred to Belmont to gain BBA with a concentration in Accounting, she is to graduate in May 2019. Lauren enjoys concerts, Netflix and adventuring her new city.
